Islam says goodness belongs to God: “God is good and accepts only what is good” (hadith).
What it means
The Prophet said: “O people, God is good and accepts only what is good” (Sahih Muslim). The Quran calls God “the Beneficent” (52:28), and says that whatever good one has is from Him (16:53). Muslims also read Jesus’ words, “why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone” (Mark 10:18), as the teaching that only God is good in the absolute sense.
