Prophet
A prophet the Quran describes as truthful and raised to a high station.
What it means
“Mention in the Book Idris; he was a man of truth, a prophet, and We raised him to a high place” (19:56–57). He is also named among the patient (21:85). The Quran does not give his story or say where he lived; many commentators identified him with Enoch, whom the Bible says “God took”, and others differed.
