A Persian Companion who is said to have advised digging the trench around Medina.
What it means
Salman is reported to have come from Persia in search of the truth, passed through Christian teachers, and found the Prophet in Medina. Though once a slave, he was freed and honoured; the Prophet said, “Salman is of us, the people of the house” (al-Hakim). He proposed the trench at the battle of 627.
