The Greek letters that Revelation uses for “the first and the last”, a title the Quran also gives to God alone (57:3).
What it means
Revelation 1:8 and 21:6 use “the Alpha and the Omega” for the Lord God. The Quran has a parallel for God: “He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden” (57:3). The Muslim position is that this describes God alone, and that Jesus, who is a created being and a messenger, is not the First and the Last.
