An Italian scholar (1869–1935) whose Annali dell’Islam collected the early Muslim sources in order.

What it means

Prince Leone Caetani learned several Eastern languages and between 1905 and 1926 published ten volumes of the Annali, a year-by-year record of early Islamic history from the Arabic sources. He is an example of a European scholar who relied on the Muslim sources and treated them critically.
