The Quran lifts the burden of duties that a person cannot bear, and urges care for the blind, the sick and the weak.
What it means
“No blame is on the blind, nor on the lame, nor on the sick” (24:61; 48:17). When 4:95 said that those who sit at home were not equal to those who fight, the blind Companion Ibn Umm Maktum objected, and the words “except those who are disabled” were added (Sahih al-Bukhari). The Quran also tells guardians not to hand property to those who cannot manage it (4:5), and to treat them kindly.
