The Quran forbids using money to gain a ruling over another’s property (2:188), and the Prophet cursed both who gives and who takes a bribe.
What it means
“Do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly, nor offer it to the judges so as to devour a portion of the wealth of others knowingly in sin” (2:188). The Prophet said that God curses the one who gives a bribe and the one who takes it (Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi).
