Daʿwa

“Invitation”: calling people to Islam, which the Quran says should be done by wisdom and good counsel.

What it means

“Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good counsel, and argue with them in the way that is best” (16:125). The Prophet’s task, in the Quran, was to convey, not to compel: “your duty is only to convey” (13:40, 5:99). Muslims perform it by speech, writing, charity and example.
