The Quran calls the home a place of rest (16:80) and tells believers to ask permission before entering another’s house (24:27).
What it means
“God has made your homes a place of rest for you” (16:80). “O you who believe, do not enter houses other than your own until you have asked permission and greeted their people” (24:27). “If you do not find anyone in it, do not enter until permission is given you; and if you are told to go back, then go back” (24:28).
