Kindness to parents, kin, neighbours, orphans and the poor, a duty throughout the Quran.
What it means
“Worship God and associate nothing with Him; be kind to parents, relatives, orphans, the poor, the neighbour near and far, the companion at your side, the traveller, and those your right hands possess” (4:36). The Prophet said: “He who is not merciful to others will not be shown mercy” (Sahih al-Bukhari), and “God is kind and loves kindness in all things” (Sahih Muslim). The Prophet was sent “as a mercy to the worlds” (21:107).
