The Quran commands care for orphans and warns against consuming their property (4:10).
What it means
“Those who consume the wealth of orphans unjustly only consume fire in their bellies” (4:10). Guardians are to “test the orphans until they reach marriage age, then, if you find sound judgement in them, return their property” (4:6), and “do not approach the orphan’s property except in the best way” (6:152). The Prophet, himself an orphan, said that he and the guardian of an orphan would be together in Paradise (Sahih al-Bukhari).
