Prophet
A prophet and the father of Yahya (John), who prayed for an heir in his old age.
What it means
“Zakariyya called to his Lord: ‘My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring; You are the Hearer of prayer’” (3:38; 19:2–6). The angels gave him the news of Yahya. He was the guardian of Mary (3:37).
