The Quran mentions armour as a gift from God to David and as part of defence.
What it means
God taught David how to make coats of mail “to protect you from your violence” (21:80), and told him “make full-length coats and measure the links” (34:10–11). The Quran also says that God has given garments “to protect you from the heat, and garments to protect you from your fighting” (16:81).
