A prophet named in the Quran among the steadfast (21:85, 38:48), whose identity is not given.
What it means
He is mentioned after Ishmael and Idris as among “the patient” (21:85–86) and “the best” (38:48). Commentators have identified him with Ezekiel, Elijah, Joshua or others, and some say he was a righteous man and not a prophet.
