The Quran uses fire as a sign of God’s provision (56:71) and as the image of Hell.
What it means
“Have you seen the fire that you kindle? Is it you who made its tree grow, or are We the grower? We made it a reminder and a benefit for the wayfarers” (56:71–73). The Quran also says that the Fire is fuelled with “people and stones” (2:24), and calls Hell “the Fire”.
