Quran 6:151–153 and 17:22–39 give moral commandments close to the Ten Commandments.

What it means

The Quran’s list in 6:151–153 begins “do not associate anything with God, be good to your parents, do not kill your children out of poverty, do not approach indecencies, do not kill the soul God has forbidden except by right”, and goes on with honesty in weights, justice in speech and keeping covenants. The list in 17:22–39 adds not to say “uff” to parents, not to be wasteful, and not to walk the earth arrogantly.

What the sources say

The Quran says Moses received tablets containing “guidance and mercy” (7:145, 7:154), and Muslims believe that the Torah’s commandments, in the form God revealed them, correspond to these.
