Verse 75:4 says God can restore the very fingertips of a person on the Day of Judgement.
What it means
“Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? Yes, We are able to restore in perfect order even his fingertips (banān)” (75:3–4). The translations say “fingertips”. Some modern Muslim writers have read it as a reference to fingerprints, which were not used in identification until the nineteenth century.
What the sources say
The verse’s point is that God’s power reaches the finest detail of the body. Many scholars prefer the plain sense and do not insist on the fingerprint reading.
