حضرة

Ḥaḍra

A title of respect, mostly in South Asia, for men of high standing in the religion.

What it means

Ḥaḍrat (“presence”) is used before the names of prophets, Companions and respected scholars and saints, as in “Hazrat Ali”. It is not a rank conferred by any authority, and has no resemblance to the formal canonisation of saints in the Catholic Church.
