Prophet
A prophet who is held up as the model of patience in affliction.
What it means
“And Job, when he called to his Lord: ‘Harm has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.’ We answered him and removed the harm that was on him” (21:83–84). God calls him “an excellent servant, ever turning to Him” (38:44). The Quran gives no detail of the illness or of the loss; his story is the answer to hardship by patience and prayer.
