Person

A wife of the Prophet, daughter of Umar, who kept the first written collection of the Quran.

What it means

Hafsa bint Umar married the Prophet after her first husband died at Badr. After the collection of the Quran’s leaves under Abu Bakr, the copy was kept in her care, and Uthman later borrowed it to make the standard copies, then returned it (Sahih al-Bukhari).
