آمين

Āmīn

The word said at the end of a prayer; in Islam it is said after the opening chapter.

What it means

Muslims say āmīn aloud or silently after the Fatiha, in the prayer. The Prophet said that when the imam says it, the people should say it, and whoever’s “amen” coincides with the angels’ will have past sins forgiven (Sahih al-Bukhari). The word is Hebrew in origin, and shared by Jews, Christians and Muslims.
