Islam teaches freedom of belief and liberation from servitude to anything but God; the Quran also retells the exodus from Egypt.

What it means

“Whoever wills, let him believe, and whoever wills, let him disbelieve” (18:29). The Quran tells how Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt (20:77, 2:49–50). Muslims also say that submission to God sets a person free of submission to other human beings. A saying attributed to Caliph Umar asks: “Since when have you enslaved people, when their mothers bore them free?”
