The Quran honours mothers for the hardship of carrying and bearing children.
What it means
“We have enjoined upon man kindness to his parents; his mother bore him in hardship and gave birth to him in hardship” (46:15; also 31:14). Mary’s labour pains are told in 19:23. The Prophet, asked who most deserved good company, said “your mother”, three times, before “your father” (Sahih al-Bukhari).
